Chair & Committee Positions

Special Events Chair

  • Plan and organize special events, including Parents Night Out, Girls’ Night, and other parent events

  • Recruit, motivate, and schedule volunteers, if needed

  • Promote the events to parents

  • Work with treasurer to stay within budget

  • Keep records for future use

Fundraising Chair

  • Brainstorm, schedule, plan and manage the fundraising events

  • Serve as the main contact between the school, volunteers and PTA

  • Recruit, motivate, and schedule volunteers

  • Work with PTA leadership to schedule events and get on school calendar

  • Promote the fundraising events to school, students, and families

  • Direct the setup and operation of the fundraising events

  • Work with treasurer to maintain financial success of fundraising events

Community Partners Chair

Help promote passive fundraisers to generate free money for our school such as Box Tops, Labels for Education, and programs such as Givebacks, Target RED Card and more! Volunteers needed to promote programs.​

  • Community Partners committee: Help promote passive fundraisers to generate free money for our school such as BoxTops and Givebacks.​

  • Develop ideas to get the school, students, and families involved in community service projects (giving back to our community)

  • Plan, organize and implement projects in which the school, students, families can help our community

  • Recruit, motivate, and schedule volunteers

  • Promote the fair to school, students, and families

  • Direct the setup and operation of all community events

  • Keep records of events for future use

Historian and Yearbook Chair

Help put together and publish the school yearbook. Any computer or digital scrap-booking experience is great.
 

  • Yearbook committee: Help organize, take photographs (at events, activities, and around the school) and publish the school yearbook. Pictures will be used for yearbooks, social media and the PTA website. No photography experience needed! (Flexible hours)

Reflections Chair

  • Assist with student participation in the national Reflections art program competition

  • Promote the event, coordinate judges, plan and execute the student celebration

  • Prep artwork for District submission
     

    • Reflections committee: (1+ hours, Fall)

      • Assist with student participation in the national Reflections art program competition.

      • Both creative and administrative opportunities are available, many of which can be done at home.

Grants Chair

  • Coordinate grant cycles

  • Collect and review grant applications

  • Score grants via a rubric, and present grant applications to Board of Directors for approval
     

    • Grant committee: Help us sort through grant requests and help recommend which ones will be funded.

Membership Chair

  • Collect membership forms and payment

  • Enter member information into the state PTA database

  • Distribute membership cards

  • Participate in various PTA member-building activities throughout the year

  • Attend board & membership meetings.
     

    • Membership Committee: Work with the Membership Chair to promote PTA membership at various Andover events. (Flexible hours).

5th Grade Fundraising Committee

  • This committee organizes a graduation luncheon/party

  • Coordinates fundraising activities

  • Oversees yearbook production, and orders graduation t- shirts for all fifth graders

  • Chair would solicit for fifth grade parent volunteers to sit on the committee and complete above mentioned Tasks.

4th Grade St. Augustine Committee

  • Coordinate fundraisers to help pay for scholarships and busses for the annual St. Augustine field trip

  • Conduct regular meetings with the 4th grade teaching staff
